So, there I was ambling absent mindedly (as usual) down avenida Castilla Perez when, from one of the shops, there was a loud ‘Hola!’ followed by a loud whistle. I looked round as another ‘Hola!’ boomed out followed by a very Castillian ‘?Como Estas¿.
It was a parrot!
Coincidentally, when I got home I was browsing the Australian Geographic, as one does, and saw this article where escaped domestic parrots and cockatoos in Australia have apparently been teaching their wild cousins to talk. Birds of a feather talk together
