New ordinance against prostitution now in force in Sevilla

As from today, Friday, a new ordinance against street prostitution comes into force in Sevilla and clients who avail themselves of the services of prostitutes face fines of between €750 and €3,000.

During the past two months police in Sevilla have identified over 100 prostitutes, many in the country illegally, in the areas of Santo Domingo de la Canzada, Polígono de la Carretera Amarilla, Su Eminencia, Sevilla Este and Parque Alcosa.

The police have also warned a number of clients of the prostitutes that as from today they face fines if caught indulging in such practices.
