Rincón de la Victoria is the latest municipality to cut back on Christmas and New Year celebrations in order to save money.
This year there will be no marquees in the plaza Al Andalus and the church square in La Cala del Moral. The Mayor, Francisco Salado, says the measures will save about €15,000 in lighting, sound systems and other ancillary costs.
The Mayor stressed that such activities as the ‘living nativity’ would go ahead but would take place in front of the Town Hall, a smaller area. The traditional official New Year celebrations in these two locations will not now take place.
