A robot specifically designed for collecting ‘industrial strawberries’ in Huelva province is expected to be operational next spring.
The so-called ‘industrial strawberries’ are those whose purpose is for the making of yoghurts and sauces. The fruit will be studied by the Agro-Industrial Technology Centre in Lepe to try to determine if their use enhances our immune system to contract fewer diseases or delays brain aging. The results of this study will serve to help with the making of special foods and to enrich others.
