At a routine checkpoint in Rincón de la Victoria, Guardia Civil officers stopped a vehicle and then noticed that the car was laden with avocados, 595 kilos of them to be precise.
The driver of the vehicle was unable to verify the origin of the large quantity of avocados and was detained. It transpired that the avocados had been stolen from a farm in Nerja. The driver, 26 year old M.M.F. from Málaga was arrested and later made a court appearance.
