Five people were injured, one of them seriously, following an accident with rockets during celebrations being held in Baza, Granada.
The incident occurred at around 19>30 on Saturday evening on the Camino de las Torres heading towards Cantarrana. Several people had gathered to watch the rockets being launched to announce the pilgrimage. However, the burning fuse of one of the rockets fell into the box of stored rockets and an explosion occurred, injuring five people to varying degrees.
The most seriously injured was a 77 year old man who was first taken to the hospital in Baza and then transferred to the Traumatology hospital in Granada where he underwent surgery.
The other injured were treated at the hospital in Baza and were discharged on Sunday morning.
