Ground forces continue to monitor the site of the fire in Estepona which resulted in the precautionary evacuation of four urbanisations and an apartahotel on Saturday evening, although all but a few people have been allowed to return to their homes.
The exceptions relate to three homes in calle Cuba where the occupants are being advised to wait for a technical assessment on the state of the houses before returning. In the meantime, these people are being put up in a hotel.
The blaze was stabilised at 21:20 on Saturday and was ‘under control’ at midnight.
