The 2012 Budget was initially approved with the casting vote of the Mayor, Francisco Muñoz (PSOE), after the proposal to create five new political ‘positions of trust’, one for each party, was withdrawn.
Only the minority PSOE voted in favour of the Budget, the PP and IU voting against and the PSA and PIU abstaining.
It has now been suggested that the earlier proposed increase in political spending of €72,000 should now be used as financial assistance for associations and sports clubs.
