A barrier has now been installed at the entrance to the old quarry, the start of the popular walk along the river to Los Cahorros, to prevent unauthorised parking in the area. The Council has provided an alternative parking area in calle Mirto.
The whole area of the riverbed and approaches to the old quarry are now ‘no parking’, with signs having been installed. The new restrictions have no effect on pedestrian access, it’s just that people now have to walk a bit farther from their cars.
Volunteers are currently being sought to join the clean-up of the route to Los Cahorros, now an annual event. This takes place on Sunday September 30th. see Collecting up the rubbish
