Lunchtime tapas at Taberna Pepe Moles in prolongación Antonio Millón in Nerja and it was delightful. I would strongly recommend giving this place a visit. My first tapa – it was so good I had to have another – was a meat and rice dish with a delicate barbecue flavour to the rice.
And it was served with a bowl of olives and a basket of bread, bread sticks and other bits and bobs. The meat was a real ‘melt-in-the-mouth’ delight, the stuff of legends.
As a second tapa I had a portion of paella. Plenty of substance and equally delicious. A small beer + tapa + olives+ basket of breads, €1.80. Excellent value.
Incidentally, the full meals emerging from the kitchen looked absolutely superb, very well presented and mouthwatering.

We only discovered Taberna Pepe Moles earlier this year in spite of their having opened more than 2 years ago. The meals are superb and the service is excellent. It is always busy and frequented by Spanish clientele as well as expats. They have a fabulous selection of tapas and excellent wines.

Just back from stay in Nerja had a great time as usual except for one very disturbing encounter.
It happened in a clothes shop on Called Pintada called Octopussy.. I had seem a pair of boots the evening before in the window and called in the next day to try them on. There was a lady already in the shop trying shoes on when I entered so I had a look round and picked a great jumper to go with the boot’s.
My husband was waiting outside for me after been to the ATM , as I was walking out
to call him into the shop the ” Owner ” of this shop who had been standing behind his table raised
his voice to me and said ” ARE YOU A MUTE ” . I stopped and said excuse me……. he repeated what he had said and them informed me I was ” rude” as I had not shown him any respect while in his shop.
I could not believe what I was hearing I was about to spend 49 euro on boot’s and 29 euro on the jumper needless to say I bought neither. I was about to give him some advice on Customer Service but it would have been totaly wasted on this ignorant man.
I have been coming to Nerja for the past 12 years maybe 5 times a year and in all that time I have never been spoken to in this manner. I will never spend another euro in this shop again and neither will my family for friends. He must have one of the only business’s in spain who can afford to verbaly abuse his customers.

holla! Gestern waren wir wieder mal bei Pepe uns mit seinem fantastic meals und ausserodentlichen Gastfreundschaft verwoehnen zu lassen.Ich und der Freund meiner Tochter hatten Kabeljau und Prawns und meine Tochter hatte Schweinefilet.Es war ein vergnuegen der Sinne!!!Vorher hatten wir an der Bar ein paar ein paar Drinks und Tapas!1,80 Euro fuer einen Drink mit einem Tapa nach Wahl.Einfach toll.Kann Pepe nur weiter emfehlen.Hier wird man noch very friendly mit exelentem Essen und Wein verwoehnt.Einfach holiday pur.Thank you!
