Three people have died and another is in a critical condition after a fire early this morning in an apartment block in calle Forcanada in Sabadell, Barcelona. Seven other people suffered minor injuries, mostly due to smoke inhalation.
The fire began at around 05:45 on Thursday morning on the ground floor of the building. Inside an apartment on the floor most affected by the fire, firemen found four people, three dead and one unconscious. The injured person is now in the Parc Taulí hospital in Sabadell and is in a critical condition.
Residents of the upper floors had to be rescued and some suffered injuries due to smoke inhalation, although none of them serious.
