Members of the workers’ committee of Urbaser, the municipal cleaning company in Jerez de la Frontera, walked out of a meeting with management after fifteen minutes, accusing them of provocation and not bringing anything to the negotiating table.
The strike has been ongoing now for eighteen days and has resulted in 3,500 tons of garbage piled up on the streets and the burning of rubbish containers by local residents.
