First babies of the year in Andalucia

Blanca, weighing in at 2.915 kilos, was born at two minutes past midnight in Ronda hospital, Málaga province, to become the first newborn of 2013 in Andalucia, according to the Ministry of Health. Four minutes later at the Hospital Inmaculada in Huércal-Overa, Almería, saw the arrival of Daniela who weighed in at 3.630 kilos.

In Sevilla, the first baby was Nigerian Rachael, born at the Valme Hospital at 00:15 and weighing in at 3.710 kilos.

In Cádiz, the first baby of the year was born at the hospital Puerta del Mar at 00:53 and weighed 3.210 kilos. The first arrival in Córdoba was José Manuel, born at the Hospital Reina Sofia and weighing in at 3.485 kilos.

In Jaén, the first baby was delivered by caesarean section at 00:40 in the Complejo Hospitalario in the capital.

In Granada, Cenia was the first on the scene, arriving by caesarean section at 01:20 in the hospital Virgen de las Nieves.

Up until 11:00, there were no births registered in public hospitals in Huelva province.
