Thieves have stolen 90 metres of crash barriers from a windy stretch of the MA-3111 between Olias and Comares in Málaga province. Plastic tape has been put up until the barriers can be replaced.
The barriers were only recently installed as part of a plan to improve road safety.
It is thought that the thieves will have difficulty selling the barriers as the only owners of this type of material are public bodies and there are no steel foundries in the province where the metal could be processed.
