A meeting is going on this morning, Saturday, involving Málaga Council, the Junta de Andalucia and representatives of Málaga’s taxi drivers in an effort to avert the strike planned for the middle of Easter Week.
The Málaga taxi drivers want the Junta de Andalucia to repeal Decree 11/85 which permits prebooked taxis from other municipalities, or even provinces, to pick up and drop off passengers at Málaga airport.
The Mayor of Málaga, Francisco de la Torre, supports the taxi drivers, describing the decree as brutal and unfair.
