Four Granada towns without drinking water for fifteen days

Some 17,000 inhabitants of Cacín, Huétor Tájar, Villanueva de Mesía and Moraleda de Zafayona in Granada province have been without drinking water in their homes for the past fifteen days.

The winter rains caused one of the main supply pipes from the Bermejales reservoir to sink and is preventing water from reaching the treatment plant. Emergency repairs are being carried out but in the meantime, the residents are being provided with mineral water.

It is currently expected that the water supply will resume some time next week.
