The girls of the Municipal School of Volleyball are off to Barcelona to compete in the national championships after recently being crowned Champions of Andalucia.
Prior to their departure they were at the Town Hall where the Mayor, José Alberto Armijo, presented a plaque to the head coach, José Manuel Armijo, to commemorate winning the Andalucia Championship.
Ana Muñoz Figueroa was also awarded a plaque for being named as ‘best player’ during the recent championships.
The team representing Nerja is Ana Muñoz Figueroa, Sara Jaime García, Julia González Gómez, Carolina Allebone, Lara Herrero García, Giulia Guerrero García, Alba Puertollano Acosta, Marina Armijo Sánchez, Natalia Sánchez Rando, Paula Piñero Mauri and Triana Atencia Fernández.
The coaches are Jose Manuel Armijo Cerezo and Marta Ortega Corbera.
For the national championships, the team was presented with a new kit. We wish them luck in the championships which start on Wednesday.
