Nerja Council has launched several initiatives in support of their numerous requests to the provincial and regional authorities for improvements to existing schools or the building of new schools in the municipality.
Parents of pupils at the Narixa school are collecting signatures to request the enlargement of the classrooms for three year-olds as they deem the current facilities to be too small.
Parents of pupils at the Virgen del Mar school are also collecting signatures in support of several requests to the provincial delegate for Education of the Junta de Andalucia to allow the construction of a new school.
The Council is also trying to persuade the Department of Education of the Junta de Andalucia to install a lift in the Nueva Nerja school.
