A total of twenty companies have submitted bids to draft the technical project for the proposed new promenade at El Playazo beach.
The budget for drafting the project is €70,000. However, six of the bids were deemed ‘reckless’ under the State Contract Law which means the Ministry of Environment is asking for justification, something which will delay proceedings slightly, although the Department of Coasts has set July as the approximate date for actually making the contract award.
Once the contract has been awarded, the company will have eleven months to prepare the technical project.
The Mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, stressed the importance of this project for the town with respect to tourism.
