A man has been arrested in Torremolinos in connection with a violent robbery of a 63 year-old man who had been sleeping in his car after visiting friends. The victim is in a coma in hospital.
The incident occurred on June 7th. The man had been visiting friends in Torremolinos and, feeling tired, decided to sleep for a while in his car before driving back to his home in San Roque, Cádiz. In the early hours of the morning he was attacked by an individual who wanted his wallet and the pin number to his credit card.
In his efforts to extract the pin number, the attacker beat the man about the head before grabbing his personal effects and leaving him injured in the vehicle.
Police eventually managed to identify the alleged attacker and he has now been arrested.
