A court gave permission for the exhumation this morning of a body in the cemetery in Chiclana, Cádiz province, in a case relating to a possible stolen baby.
The grave is supposed to belong to a girl born thirty years ago at the Hospital Puerta del Mar in Cádiz. The mother never saw her baby alive as she was unconscious for three days. The father did see the baby alive but was later informed that she had died. Neither saw the body.
Contradictions in medical reports and the fact they did not see the deceased baby led the family to question whether the grave actually contains the remains of their baby daughter, DNA tests will now be carried out.
