Lifeguards in Nerja are participating in training sessions in basic first aid, life support and dealing with jellyfish and weaver fish stings.
The sessions are being held at the Nerja Cultural Centre with the next one being Wednesday July 10th. Although the lifeguards are already suitably qualified, the extra courses are seen as a good addition to their repertoire as they are invariably the first contact with swimmers who get into trouble.
