A 9-year-old girl died on Thursday evening after a wall collapsed on her in the village of Valero in Vejer de la Frontera, Cádiz province.
The incident occurred at around 21:00 when a wall collapsed, trapping the child under the rubble. She was rescued alive but very seriously injured and although tended at the scene by medics she subsequently died.
The reason for the collapse of the wall is not yet known and is under investigation.
