Ten local students have benefited with assistance towards travel expenses for courses or training being undertaken at accredited establishments outside the municipality.
The students were today presented with their grants which can be used throughout the week with the bus company ALSA and will result in savings of around €500 in travel expenses.
Various criteria were taken into account when determining eligibility for the grants, such as economic circumstances of the applicant and family members and personal and social situations.
This is the second year that this initiative has been in operation.
