Guided tours of the Malaga Metro

On Sunday, groups of around 30 people were taken on 20 minute guided tours of the new metro in Málaga, with the Councilor for Tourism and Commerce, Rafael Rodríguez, and the Mayor, Francisco de la Torre, in attendance

The tour took in Ciudad de la Justicia, Portada Alta and Barbarela on line 1, and Princesa and La Luz-La Paz on line 2. The tours took place from 11:00 to 14:00 and 16:00 to 19:00 with a duration of 20 minutes. The idea was for the participants to experience the different aspects of the new metro.

The metro is said to be basically finished, despite much negative media coverage, although it will not actually be operational until some time in 2014. The trains to be used will be 12 metres in length and there will be 17 stops in total.

The Metro has so far cost in the region of €600 million.
