The Councillor for Education and Culture,Gema Garcia, has filed a motion to be debated and approved at the next plenary session of the Council to request the provincial delegate for Education to take the necessary steps to ensure that families within the catchment of the school in Fuente del Badén actually enroll their children in the school.
According to the Councillor, if the provincial delegation maintains its current policy towards the school then it may well end up having to close. The number of pupils attending the school has been steadily declining each year and it currently only has 40 students.
The Councillor wants to see the school made more attractive to parents, for example by making it a bilingual facility.
