The Guardia Civil in El Ejida, Almeria, has arrested the parents of a 17-year-old girl who was carrying out prostitution in the area around her home.
The police are investigating the extent of the involvement of the parents, whether they they were merely aware, consented or were actively involved.
The father spent a lot of time travelling back and forth to his native country of Morocco, the minor being in the care of the mother. It is thought that the minor could have been entertaining clients in the family home.
The parents have been charged and released on bail. They have been banned from approaching their children.
