The first phase of the Christmas road traffic campaign began at 15:00 on Friday December 20th and ended at 20:00 on Sunday December 29th, and in the region of Andalucia there were just two fatal road traffic accidents during this period.
Two people lost their lives and a further six others were injured, one of them seriously.
The first accident occurred on Monday December 23rd on the Al-3108 near Níjar in Almeria province when a vehicle left the road and overturned. One person was killed and two others were injured.
The second incident occurred on Saturday December 28th in Pizarra, Málaga province, where a head-on collision between two vehicles left one person dead and four others injured.
