The Council has started to replace the opening system on the existing underground rubbish containers due to frequent problems encountered which made them difficult to open and caused jamming.
The new system will be more robust, stronger, easier to open and will have a self-locking system to avoid them being left open.
The first containers to be changed are the six in calle Jaén. Next will be the rest of the containers in the municipality, many of which are apparently in poor condition. The Council intends to continue with the policy of constructing underground rubbish containers in order to avoid creating a bad image to visitors.
