The mayor of Nerja, Rosa Arrabal Téllez, has appointed 31-year-old José Alejandro Barba Hernández as the new village headman, or village mayor, of Maro.
The appointment was made by the mayor of Nerja under article 20 of the Legislative Royal Decree 781/1986 and it is the mayor who will also determine the term of office.
José Alejandro Barba Hernández, along with his wife, runs a butcher’s shop in calle Real, Maro.
