Brexit concerns don’t appear to be affecting British visitors to Malaga

The latest visitor figures for the Costa del Sol highlight that British tourism is buzzing despite the possibility of a no-deal Brexit at the end of October.

For the first 6 months of the year, visitor numbers of those flying to Malaga Airport rose by 3.4 per in comparison to last year. The peak number of travellers from the UK between January and June this year was almost 1,400,000. 

The president of the Malaga provincial government Francisco Salado, spoke positively about the potential increase for the rest of the  He said at a press conference, “(Malaga is) going to continue being the favourite destination for the British.” He also said that he did not believe that the expected stricter passport controls as a result of Brexit, would put tourists off.

The statistics provided by Costa del Sol Tourism, stated that the next highest numbers of tourists after the British, were German, French and ItalianMalaga airport visitor numbers increase during Brexit concerns
