New Japanese restaurant opening shortly

The former El Patio Cordobés is being renovated before opening as a Japanese restaurant which will serve, amongst other things, Teppanyaki- teppanyaki is derived from teppan, which means iron plate, and yaki, which means grilled, broiled, or pan-fried.

Holiday time at El Pulguilla

The excellent tapas bar El Pulguilla in calle Cristo, Nerja, is closed for holidays until January 31st 2014.

The Boathouse closes

The Boathouse bar on the corner of calle Mèrida and avenida Mediterraneo in Nerja has closed down. La Biznaga on the Balcón de Europa has closed for ‘the season’ and will open again in the spring.

Holidays, new and upcoming

The French restaurant Au Petit Paris in Plaza Málaga, Nerja, is closed until January 15th. The former Edwards Estates at the bottom of avenida Castilla Perez is now El Bácaro, a cafeteria and gastro bar. The former Garcia photo shop on calle Pintada is set to be the home of Dal Toscano, Italian restaurant.

A few changes

Potters Bar in Edificio Miami, Nerja, is open once again, The Saloon in avenida Castilla Perez has closed and the former Barbados (and for a very short time, Gran Evasion) in calle Fray Junipero Serra now has a sign up saying Manny’s Bar.

More changes in Plaza Tutti Frutti

The former Maui in Plaza Tutti Frutti, Nerja, closed for a long time, has been totally gutted and is now but a shell and the sign has come down on neighbouring Safari, suggesting yet another change is in the offing.

Scrum Snack Bar

El Ancla in Plaza Tutti Frutti, Nerja, has been replaced by ‘Scrum’ Snack Bar, offering a variety of snacks, a menu del día and even an English breakfast.

Bar Rafael

The former Chique on calle Chaparil, Nerja, is now Bar Rafael.

El Quijote

The former Bar Turry in calle Cristo, Nerja, has been transformed into El Quijote.
