Bar Rafael near the bottom of calle Chaparil is quite a nice, relaxing tapas bar. It has an arty theme and while I was enjoying a tasty rice and pumpkin tapa with my beer, a group of people were putting paint to paper. A small beer and a tapa, €1.50.
Tapas at Taberna Torero
Down a flight of stairs near the bus stop at the junction of calle Chaparil and calle Antonio Millón in Nerja is a lovely little tapas bar called Taberna Torero.
La Loca Carmela closes plus a round-up of closures
La Loca Carmela (formerly Bar Alameda)in calle Jaén, Nerja, has closed after a very short existence. A quick recap on some of the bars and restaurants which have disappeared during the past six months or so in case any are on your list of former favourites.
La Tertulia
The former El Tapeito in calle Chaparil, Nerja, is now La Tertulia. It still has the barrels outside for a street terrace but the inside has been totally renovated.
Black and White Lounge
The Black and White Bar/Blanco y Negro in calle Pintada is under new ownership and has become the Black and White Lounge. It is open from 22:00 and promises music and karaoke every night.
Tapas at Agridulce
Agridulce is a new tapas bar on calle San Miguel in Nerja. The interior is spacious with a large bar counter area and there is quite an extensive list of tapas on offer.

Agridulce
The former Las Peinetas in calle San Miguel, almost opposite the Mercadona supermarket in Nerja, which has been closed for a long time has now become Agridulce and in their first week of opening are offering half price drinks.
Dal Toscano and La Taberna
The Italian restaurant Dal Toscano in alle San José has closed, their new premises are in calle Pintada. Work on the premises, formerly the photo shop Garcia, should be ready before too long.

Pata Negra in Plaza La Marina, Nerja, is currently undergoing an extensive interior renovation, Pequeña Cibeles in calle Cristo is up for sale, although still open, the Coach and Horses, which reopens at the beginning of March, is looking for a chef and the Ichibata teppanyaki restaurant in calle Cristo should be opening fairly soon.
