Thirty-one migrants intercepted off Ceuta

Guardia Civil and Maritime Rescue officers have intercepted a boat off Ceuta which was carrying 31 North African migrants, the small boat being on the verge of sinking due to the numbers on board.

Domestic fatality in Ceuta

A man turned himself in to the National Police in Ceuta on Tuesday and confessed to killing his partner. When police went to his home they found the lifeless body of a woman.

Five arrested in drugs and weapons operation

Five people have so far been arrested, three in Ceuta, one in Málaga and one in Algeciras, in connection with drugs and arms trafficking. Some of those arrested are implicated in various shootings and further detentions are expected in the next few hours.

Guardia Civil officer arrested for drug possession

Guardia Civil officers in Ceuta have arrested one of their own after he was found to be carrying 200 grams of hashish following a day trip to Algeciras. The drugs were hidden in his suitcase.

Four illegal immigrants arrested

Four African migrants have been rescued and subsequently arrested as they tried to get to the enclave of Cueta in a small, inflatable toy boat. Two of the occupants tried to swim ashore after falling in the water.

Seven minors amongst latest batch of illegal immigrants

Another eleven people, seven of them minors, have been intercepted four miles north of Ceuta after setting off for Spain without the necessary paperwork. Several of the passengers were suffering from mild hypothermia.

5 illegal immigrants rescued off Ceuta

Five sub-Saharans were rescued early this morning a few miles off the coast near Ceuta, their boat drifting aimlessly. All needed medical attention with one of the passengers suffering from a broken nose.
