Fewer cases of domestic violence in Nerja so far this year

In 2011, there were 69 official complaints made in Nerja relating to domestic violence. During 2012, this figure fell to a total of 55, a step in the right direction. In 2013 so far, there have been 16 complaints, including two from minors, although in 9 cases the complaints were withdrawn.

Urban crimes in Andalucia down by 60%

The Minister of Housing, Juan Espadas, has stated that complaints relating to urban planning crime in Andalucia have dropped by 60% in the past two years, and not just as a result of the collapse of the construction industry.

19 banks denounced for unfair practices

The Asociación de Usuarios de Banco, Cajas y Seguros (Banks and Insurance Users Association) has denounced in court a total of 19 banks, including the Cajasol and Cajamar, of unfair practices by limiting mortgage rate decreases.

Illegal dwellings in Vélez-Málaga

The environmental organisation GENA-Ecologistas en Acción has denounced two dwellings built on rural land in the municipality of Vélez-Málaga. The two offending homes are in the Paraje Salvador Rosas in Almayate and the Paraje de Peñuelas (Loma La Mojonera) in the northern part of Cajiz.

Electronic denuncias in Coín

The Local Police in Coín has set up two email addresses to enable denuncias to be made via the internet and, as a result, anonymously. The address [email protected] is the all-purpose mailbox and [email protected] relates solely to incidents involving those under 18 years of age.
