Sara Teresa Jorge Andreasson was elected Feria Queen 2011, also picking up the titles Miss Elegance and Miss Photogenic to make it a clean sweep at last night’s Gala at the feria ground.
Feria tickets now on sale
Tickets for the Grand Gala and election of the Feria Queen and Knight and the concerts featuring Ecos del Rocío and Andy and Lucas are now on sale. All other events at the feria are free entrance.
Tickets for Senior Meal at the feria
Tickets for the Seniors Meal to take place on Monday October 10th in the Municipal Marquee of the feria can be collected from the Citizen’s Help Office on Thursday and Friday starting at 08:00 each day.
Getting ready to party
The Los Huertos de Carabeo car park is a hive of activity as the preparations for the upcoming feria continue and elsewhere in town, such as in calle Antonio Millón and Plaza Tutti Frutti, bunting is being put up.

Feria 2011 photo exhibition
Monday at 21:00 is the inauguration of the exhibition of photos of the aspiring candidates for Feria Queen and Caballero 2011, one of the most popular exhibitions of the year.
Feria rules and regulations
The Council has issued an edict relating to the upcoming feria, basically covering the rules and regulations applicable to the various stalls and attractions.
Feria 2011, the opening speech
The ‘pregon’ – opening speech – at this year’s feria is at 20:30 on October 8th and will be delivered by the Nerja Municipal Band. The Municipal Band has always participated in one way or another in every ‘pregón’ but this year they will be flying solo as it were.
Cutting costs at Vélez-Málaga Feria
Vélez-Málaga Council, which is heavily in debt, is aiming to reduce expenditure on this year’s Feria de San Miguel by 15%, the traditional fireworks display being one of the items scheduled to go.
Fairground tragedy in Villacañas, Toledo
Tragedy struck in the early hours of this morning at the feria ground in Villacañas, Toledo, when a carriage from one of the attractions, ‘La Tarántula’, became detached.
