Bridge over A-387 now open

Work on the A-387 between Fuengirola and Mijas is in its final phase and yesterday the bridge over the Arroyo Real, which straddles both municipalities, was reopened, ending a year-long detour through urbanisation El Lagarejo.

Breaches of Municipal Cleaning Ordinances in Fuengirola

In the first eight months of this year, Fuengirola has handled a total of 309 complaints relating to breaches of the Municipal Cleaning Ordinances, with fines ranging from €75 for minor offences to €9,000 for serious offences.

Finnish girl reported missing in Fuengirola

An 18 year old Finnish girl, Jenna Lepomäki, has been reported missing in Fuengirola. Jenna, who was staying with friends in Fuengirola was last seen on June 29th at a party. Since then her family have had no word from her and have asked the local Council for assistance.

Gigolo scam

The National Police have broken up an organised network of six people in Fuengirola who allegedly defrauded around 180 men of €53,000 with false offers of jobs as ‘gigolos’.

Day trip to Fuengirola…

Spent a very enjoyable day in Fuengirola yesterday. Bus (€7.17 return) to Málaga  then train (€2.95 each way) to Fuengirola, the end of the C-1 local train (Cercanias) line. One thing I had never encountered before in all the time I have been in Nerja is the potential danger of purchasing a return ticket.
