Inflation in Andalucia down by 0.7% in July

Inflation in May was 1.7%

The continuing rising prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages have been cited as the main reason for the rise in annual inflation, which in May stood at 1.7%. The CPI rose by 0.2% in April and by 0.3% in May.

Pensions will not be raised to cover inflation

The government has reneged on its campaign pledge to compensate pensioners for a loss of spending power due to inflation, opting instead to concentrate on meeting the deficit-reduction target for this year.

Inflation jumps to 3.5%

CPI in Andalucia up by 1.5% in April

The Consumer Price Index in Andalucia rose by 1.5% in April due mainly to price rises in the clothing and footwear sector (+10.4%) and drinks and tobacco (+3%).

Inflation at -1.4%

Inflation has reached a record low with the interannual rate now at -1.4%. The underlying inflation rate, which excludes the more volatile prices of energy and food, is now at 0.6%.
