San Isidro and politics…

The political parties were well represented at San Isidro, as usual, with the Mayor and several Councillors taking a turn at serving food and drink at their ‘caseta’. However, if attendance at the various political tents is any indicator, the upcoming election is a foregone conclusion and will be a landslide victory.

A glorious day, as we’ve come to expect, for the San Isidro celebrations this year. Just as rain can be virtually guaranteed for Feria, the same can be said of the sun and San Isidro. Paella all round

The San Isidro festivities have already begun for the senior citizens of the municipality, around 500 attending the traditional meal on Burriana beach. Paella was, of course, the order of the day. Now is also the time for anyone wanting to participate in the San Isidro celebrations with an ox cart, bar, burger stall or any similar activity to put in their application at the Town Hall. The deadline for submissions is May 5th. The Fiesta de San Isidro is May 14th/15th.

Prize winners

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No way Pedro. Faster than a speeding pullet, it’s Councillor for Traditional Fiestas, Charo Villasclaras Martín, awarding the prizes for the May Crosses (May 3rd) and San Isidro (May 15th). And the winners were:
