There is a notice on the door of the former Saloon in avenida Castilla Perez – opposite El Bosque at the junction of calle Fray Junipero Serra – asking for waiters, waitresses and kitchen staff, so presumably something new will be opening there in the not too distant future.
Debris from San Juan
The Councillor for Beaches has reported that hundreds of nails have been collected from El Playazo beach by the municipal cleaning department following the Noche de San Juan celebrations, the result of anti-social behaviour according to the Councillor.

The effigy is ready for San Juan
The ‘jua’ (effigy) to be set on fire at midnight on the 23rd during San Juan has been designed by Amador Rehak, a cinema special effects coordinator, and is entitled ‘Maldita crisis’ (Damned crisis).
Fiesta de San Juan 2012
Not long now until the Fiesta de San Juan, June 23rd/24th, and there are a number of events planned. The official, municipal, celebrations take place on Burriana beach starting at 22:00 on the night of June 23rd.

Tent city on El Playazo beach today as people spend a glorious San Juan in the fresh air. San Juan is a public holiday in Andalucia.
San Juan meal for Seniors
Tickets for the Senior’s San Juan meal at Ayo’s can be picked up on Monday and Tuesday between 08:00 and 14:00 from the Oficina Municipal de Atención al Ciudadano. There are 500 tickets available.
San Juan 2010
The San Juan festivities begin at 20:00 on June 23rd with a meal for the Seniors at Ayo’s on Burriana beach. Tickets for this must be obtained in advance from the Oficina de Atención al Ciudadano.
San Juan misdemeanours
In the past couple of days, the Local Police on Burriana beach have recovered a number of the wooden panels used as walkways or paths on the beach after they ‘disappeared’ during the San Juan celebrations.
