The weekend storms and high winds have caused damage to the strawberry and raspberry greenhouses in Huelva, some of the structures being blown down to expose the crops. The damage will be assessed during the next few days but initial estimates put the cost at around €500,000.
After a week of intense work by technicians from the Department of Infrastructure, Nerja Council has now arrived at a figure relating to the damage caused by the recent storms, that figure being €848,028 and they will now request financial assistance from the relevant regional and central authorities.
