The Charity Gala for the benefit of the Taller de la Amistad took place at the Nerja Cultural Centre on Saturday and raised €1,577 for the organisation.
Council to finance the start of works for the Taller de la Amistad

The Council is set to provide one-third of the €375,911 funding for the expansion of the Early Primary Care Centre for the Taller de la Amistad, The Junta de Andalucia decreed that the current facilities had to be expanded but would not provide any funding.
Taller de la Amistad needs to extend existing facilities
The charitable organisation Taller de la Amistad has to add another floor, covering around 250 square metres, to their existing building in order to accommodate the child care tasks currently being carried out in the Giner de los Rios centre in calle Diputación. This is a requirement of the Junta de Andalucia and must be completed by 2014.
More attempts to get blood out of the stone
The Council has today approved yet another motion requesting the Junta de Andalucia, specifically the Ministry of Economy, Innovation, Science and Employment, to honour its debts to the charitable organisation Taller de la Amistad.
Agreement signed with Taller de la Amistad
Frigiliana Council and the Taller de la Amistad in Nerja have signed a collaboration agreement that will allow actions to be undertaken to try and achieve full social integration of the mentally and physically disabled in the town. The partnership is expected to include employment opportunities.
Two shows in aid of Taller de la Amistad
There are two gala performances on Friday December 28th at the Nerja Cultural Centre, calle Granada 45, in aid of Taller de la Amistad. Dance academies and local artists will be providing the entertainment, with Christmas being the main theme. The shows are at 18:00 and 20:00, both entirely different in content, and entry is a mere €5.
Charity dinner raises €4,400
The annual benefit dinner in aid of Taller de Amistad, the organisation dedicated to the social integration of people with disabilities in Nerja, Frigiliana and Torrox, raised €4,400. The organisation also received a donation of €1,500 from Norwegian artist Otto Jan Solli, the proceeds from the sale of canvases at his recent exhibition in Nerja.
