The Torrox Councillor for Finance, Alfonso Márquez, has stated that an increase in refuse collection costs will not result in a higher bill for local residents.
The annual fee charged by the joint venture company LIVITEMSA has been revised by 4.49% but the Councillor for Finance has assured everyone that this will not be passed on to the community through increased charges. The annual fee is calculated using a mathematical formula which takes into account the CPI (Consumer Price Index), fuel costs and a number of other variables.
