La Viñuela has become the first municipality in the Axarquia to carry out the demolition of an illegally built house.
The house, on an 80 square metre plot was only partially constructed and not inhabited. It was being built on non-urban land and the Council ordered it to be demolished.
Unable to either fund or carry out the demolition themselves, the Council enlisted the assistance of the Consejería de Vivienda y Ordenación del Territorio (Department of Housing and Spatial Planning).
There are currently several other dwellings on the Council ‘hit list’ and a complete inventory of illegal structures in municipality is being compiled.
