The Councillor for Tourism, José Miguel García, is urging the Junta de Andalucía and the Málaga Provincial Council to become financially involved in the construction of the new museum in Paseo Nuevo.
Both the Junta and the Provincial Council are part of the Nerja Caves Foundation, yet requests for loans have so far been ignored.
José Miguel García stated that the only body to give support so far is the Council with the free transfer of a 256 square metre plot of land.
He added that, at this rate, the manager of the Nerja Caves Foundation, Ángel Ramírez, will go down in history not only as the first Nerjeño to head this body, but also the first to get it into debt.
