The Minister of Health, Social Policy and Equality, Leire Pajin, has presented a proposal to the Council of Ministers to reform the Civil Code as part of its fight against domestic violence.
Under the new proposals, during divorce or separation proceedings, custody of children would not be granted to any parent involved in criminal proceedings for domestic violence or abuse.
