A man has been arrested in Madrid after confessing to killing his wife on Monday evening. This is the third domestic violence fatality of the year so far and the first in Madrid.
The man, 47 year old F.N.J., called the police on Tuesday afternoon to inform them that he had killed his wife the day before, telling them where to find the body.
Police went to the apartment in Fuenlabrada and in the bedroom, they discovered the body of 54 year old C.J.M. The woman had been strangled with a cord.
The killing took place on Monday, apparently after a heated discussion. The accused has no prior record of abuse.
