A French gendarme was seriously injured on Saturday in a shooting incident with suspected ETA members in the central French department of Creuse.
The incident occurred at 17:00 on Saturday when a vehicle was ordered to stop at a police checkpoint. The car didn’t stop and the occupants opened fire on the police officers, seriously injuring one of them.
The suspect vehicle was later found abandoned and a search is under way for the two fugitives, who could be ETA members, with dogs, soldiers and a helicopter involved in the search.
