The Andalucian Water Authority has reported favourably on the hydraulic study of the Rio Chillar area proposed as the site of, amongst other things, a new feria ground.
The Council has already approved plans for a multi-purpose area which will house a new feria ground, the site being a 415 metre long stretch of land along the left side of the río Chillar up to the confluence with the Arroyo Almijara.
However, the Councillor for Ferias, José Miguel García, added that although the project is now in motion, it could be a ‘some time’ before it is actually realised as the area first has to have the necessary infrastructure. In the meantime, Los Huertos de Carabeo would continue to be the location for the feria.
It is not clear whether the ‘some time’ is along the lines of Health Centre/Fire Station…years…or sewage plant/marina…decades.
