According to the PSOE leader in Nerja, Ángel Ramírez, the agreement between the municipality and the owners of the Los Huertos de Carabeo land to allow free parking for local residents only extends to May 20th.

…and whilst parked in this expensive car park you may have your fuel pipe cut, and your tank emptied of fuel, as this has happened to several people recently.
Before making such high charges they could at least have made the car park more secure.

does this council have a death wish, i can not think of one thing it has done to enhance tourism. At a time when they should be doing all in their power to promote tourism, the areas bread and butter, it seems to, on a daily basis, make Nerja that little bit less attractive. Look at it from the tourist prospective, no or very little live music, everywhere looking like the biggest building site in the world, raw sewage in the sea, very expensive parking. Should anybody think of anything else to ward off the tourist please do not hesitate to put it in writing to the town council, they may be running out of ideas.

As a tourist about to visit Nerja I am shocked at the car parking charges that have been introduced. This will do little to encourage visitors to Nerja’s attractions. The shops and restaurants will suffer.
